I felt very cozy and comfortable here! The layout and amenities provided were well thought out - I had everything I needed, when I needed it. The front lobby has a small lounge which I enjoyed using to eat breakfast or to relax. The laundry room and shower room worked well. They have an app to see whether the showers/laundry are in use, before you go there, which was helpful. Lots of spaces available in the women's washroom to dry your hair etc, and the space was nice. I also felt very safe - 24h front desk, phones to contact the front desk on each level, emergency buttons in the bathrooms etc, and keycards restrict you to the locations where you are permitted to go. As someone travelling alone, it really made me feel safe and comfortable. The staff were always friendly and helpful with anything I needed! Great location - steps from a subway line, a short walk from a train line, and easily walkable (albeit a longer walk) to Gion, restaurants, etc. I would definitely stay here again!

the guest house is in a very quiet hill-side neighborhood. it's about a 15 minute scenic walk from the ferry that goes along the river shore, small shops, park, and shrine that everyone comes to see. We had a room in the second floor with a small sitting deck, and view of the river. The garden next to the common room had several deer that we watched. it really gave us a chance to slow down after running around Tokyo and Kyoto. As a side note, we lost all our yen (50,000) in an envelope somewhere in Hiroshima the day before. The guest house staff (Mr. Terazawa) was incredibly kind to call all the places we had been to since we didn't speak Japanese. He found that our envelope was at the bakery we stopped at previously and we were able to retrieve it successfully. He even gave us his personal number just in case. we are so grateful for his help and hopes he has a chance to visit Hawaii.

Wow! This was the best stay out of the four places I stayed in during my trip to Japan. The hotel is exceptionally clean and offers excellent facilities that really enhanced the overall experience. I especially want to praise the bathrooms—they were truly outstanding. The hotel provides high-quality body care products, and I genuinely enjoyed every moment spent there. Their attention to detail is impressive. For instance, they offer convenient bags for guests to carry their belongings to the shower, which makes things much easier. The showerheads are also thoughtfully designed, offering multiple settings to suit different needs. Not to mention, the hotel is just 20 seconds away from the subway. How wonderful!

The Pocket Hotel in Kyoto offers an unbeatable price, making it one of the most budget-friendly accommodations in the city. The value for money is exceptional, especially considering the hotel's cleanliness, which is truly impeccable. Despite the small size, the 7 square meter room for two people feels surprisingly spacious and not at all claustrophobic, which exceeded my expectations. The hotel's location is another major advantage, being conveniently situated for exploring Kyoto. Overall, the Pocket Hotel is an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a clean, well-located, and efficient place to stay in Kyoto.

I loved it, the room was perfect. I was a bit scared cause I tend to get claustrophobic and I didn’t know what i was getting myself into, but I felt perfect at every moment. The room has good ventilation and the fact that there’s a big window makes u feel free despite the small space. The staff was really nice all the time. The room has a space below to store lots of things. The showers are also perfect and the location really nice (I walked everyday to Teramachi/Nishiki area or took the train literally 5 meters away from the hotel to do any other plan)
